Last year I took a chance and bought a khaki Barbour international jacket on sale, this was well before i started riding and for two seasons it worked well for me. But moving back to L.A where its summer 335 days out of the year meant it was spending more time on the hanger than on my back. it was to light to do much good in the cold, to heavy and informal in the spring and did fuck all when it started to pour. A need for a heavier rainproof jacket, and for something comparatively lighter for riding in the summer or bad weather, and as always a lack of funds lead me to give wax proofing a try.
